Extension Educationin Montgomery County

Harvey was a real wake up call for equine owners across the area.  The Montgomery County Adult Horse Committee continues to provide educational support for horse owners.  On Tuesday, February 6th, beginning at 6:30pm, we will share ideas on animal evacuation plans, transportation needs, documents to have in hand, and how to protect you and your equine.  The program will feature veterinary, TAHC, and TSCRA information and resources. The Montgomery County Beef Improvement Association, in cooperation with Beard Navasota Veterinary Hospital will conduct a Bull Breeding Soundness Clinic on Tuesday, February 27th, beginning at 6:00pm. The PPA training will be held on Tuesday, March 27th beginning at 9am at the Montgomery County Extension Office.  It lasts about 4 hours.  Study material MUST be purchased ahead of time to assist with preparation.  This cost is included in the registration fee.  The study guide is actually utilized during the training. Montgomery County Master Gardeners will be available in the various demonstration garden areas which surround the Extension Office to answer questions about their specific garden, be available to answer questions regarding gardening issues, provide pertinent handouts on gardening issues, and share information on the Master Gardener Program. This presentation will give you insight on how to create a garden for caterpillars and adult butterflies. We will discuss all the necessary elements you need to have a flurry of butterflies in your yard. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. No pre-registration required. Class fee of $5 (for one class) payable at door – cash only please (exact change will be greatly appreciated). $8.00 for both classes on same Day. Refreshments provided: coffee, water and snack.
